What are Aquamin MgTG and Liposomal MgO, how they ensure maximum Mg absorption, how are they sourced

What is Aquamin?

Aquamin is a natural multi mineral sourced from marine sources derived from the cytoskeleton of the red algal Lithothamnion sp. We might think how it is acting as a source of magnesium? Well, over the course of life of this aquatic plant, minerals are accumulated from the seawater, stored as carbonate salts in the plant. Research evidence of Aquamin

• Till date, glucosamine is considered as the most widely used nutraceutical for Orthoarthritis treatment and so experiments of Aquamin with glucosamine was done for comparison of effectivity. A recent double blinded, randomized, cross over trial with 30 participants were conducted to check the effect of Aquamin after 12 weeks. Assessment was done using the Knee Injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome or (KOOS score) for assessing the pain and symptoms alongside analgesic use. Results indicated significant improvement in pain in mild to moderate symptomatic OA for all participants
 
• Aquamin have been found to be an excellent carrier for probiotic bacteria having commendable characteristics, stability and viability. Another study shows that Aquamin might play an important role in the optimization of GI microbial function considering an ex-vivo setting (Felice et al, 2026.). Other peer reviewed studies show that Aquamin influences other parameters as well which enhance microbiome diversity.

• Research done by Crowley et al., 2018 shows that the overall gut microbial diversity and species have been increased in adult rats upon administration of Aquamin and Aquamin Magnesium for 6 weeks. This have been further confirmed through a FDA approved human study where colon biopsies and stool specimens showed significant changes in microbiota upon consistent usage of Aquamin (Aslam et al., 2019).
